My name is Lisa, I am 42 years old and this is my journey to where I am today.
Where it began
When I first started trying it was because I had a missed miscarriage at 35 and myself and my partner said if we wanted a child, it’s best to start now because every year women’s fertility does decline; therefore we started tracking with Premom on ovulation and tracking periods.
Six pregnancies, and being told to stop hoping
My journey involved previous loss and that’s what prompted me to start checking for regular cycles and ovulation. Premom helped me conceive pregnancy 6 times, although they ended in losses. I then decided to go see a fertility specialists in 2022, who said the chances of having a baby was less than 4% and my AMH levels were 0.3% and I was a type 2 diabetic with high blood pressure and this was heart breaking and started the grieving process of not being able to have a child. We then decided not to continue trying and enjoy what life we have in travelling and being care free.
Two years, and a perimenopause diagnosis
I did still track periods on the app so I knew when to have my lady towels ready to have a period, so for 2 year after our last loss we decided that was enough trying. My cycles started to become longer and lighter or heavy so my doctor did tests and said I was perimenopause and this was back in December last year so I was thinking that’s it that’s definitely a sign and to accept it was never going to happen for us. I wanted nothing more then to give my husband a biological child and it broke me in ways only a women knows, you feel like your body is broken and we went through a lot of emotions and therapy to deal with the mental impact this had on me.
What Premom gave me
I found Premom on a Google search and I signed up and it has been an app I have used for many years when trying and when not trying, the app is very useful and seeing other women going through similar experiences was a comfort to see I wasn’t alone. I learned so much from using Premom in terms of fertile window, ovulation tests, and the support you receive from other women going through what you’re experiencing makes you feel less alone. The app was a tremendous support.
Focusing on my health, and losing my mum
After all this, I started focusing on getting my diabetes into remission and in that process I lost a whopping 120lbs and felt great. My mother passed away in January 2026, and the family was arranging her funeral for March 20th, 2026. My main focus was making sure I grieved healthily and attended the funeral. I would continue to focus on my walk with Jesus Christ and enjoyed staying in prayer with god and asking for strength and to get me through what I was feeling. The day came for my mother’s funeral, and we attended and were finally able to lay her to rest.
The day after the funeral
The next day something felt off my breasts was really painful and I was 3 days late according to Premom app and I had some old pregnancy tests and thought I’d do a test but in my mind I was thinking it’s just going to be negative but do the test to be sure. I was dumb founded the test came back positive and just incase it may have been a faulty tests I brought clear blue digital and that came back positive.

Every day a milestone
I was happy but same time just kept telling myself it’s probably going to end in another loss before 12 weeks, I was back and forth from the hospital at the early pregnancy unit due to on and off bleeding up until 9 weeks and then completely stopped. I was started on progesterone at 6 weeks and had regular scans as I was a high risk pregnancy due to medical issues and previous losses and previous down syndrome pregnancy that I lost 2 years ago, every week or day even felt like a milestone to me.
I reached 12 weeks and I was like wow I have never made it this far but still struggled to relax. 16 weeks came then 18 and before I knew it today I’m 23w4d and having a baby girl who as passed all scans and milestones and is healthy, I still take progesterone up until 36 weeks and I’m on blood thinning injections and also started meal time insulin due to the pregnancy hormone but my baby girl in thriving and I’m just so over joyed, although things can change at anytime I just told myself get to 24 weeks and she as every chance of survival outside the womb but she is well and truly comfortable and feeling her kick and roll is the best feeling in the world, I can’t wait to share this divine miracle baby girl with Premom when she finally arrives.

What I’d tell you
If there is one thing I can say to someone going through what I have been through is lease don’t give up hope and to relax and it will happen when that time is right, and just know women all over the world struggle with this and we are not alone, Premom will open a community of support for you with women that truly know what your going through and help you through your process and just having someone to talk to is great as a problem shared is a problem halved and it takes a lot of weight off your shoulders, just know you are not alone.
