Testing Tips

Know Your Cycle Pattern

The duration of the luteinizing hormone (LH) surge, which prompts the release of an egg, can differ from woman to woman. This surge may reach its peak rapidly within a few hours (known as “rapid onset”), or it may gradually increase over up to six days before ovulation (referred to as “gradual onset”).

Test at the Right Time

For accurate ovulation testing, it’s best to test from noon to early evening as this provides the most precise concentration for testing. If the test line begins to darken, it’s advisable to test twice per day.

Cross-check Symptoms

You can complement ovulation tests with additional methods such as basal body temperature (BBT) charts, progesterone (PdG) tests, cervical mucus (CM) tracking, and monitoring other ovulation symptoms. This comprehensive approach allows you to cross-reference results and gain a deeper understanding of your fertility window.

Product FAQs

The quantitative tests are the new advanced strips that give you a numerical result instead of a pass/fail result. They also feature easier-to-read strips with a clear, bold control line. Unlike the traditional ovulation tests, in which control test line colors differ according to LH levels, quantitative test control lines normally will not change.

Short answer is, wait for the peak which is best fertile window. Some women’s LH Surge last as long as 7 days and an LH surge doesn’t mean it is fertile window. It’s best to try to conceive any time during your fertile window. That is the 5 days leading up to ovulation, ovulation day, and the day after. Your LH will be surging during that window, and peak is the highest point of that surge.

Best time to take it is the day of or after your missed period.

If you’d like to continue using OPKs, I would recommend you pick a regular time out of the day when you plan on taking them, and limit your water intake the 2 hours before. We normally recommend that you test between about 10am and 5pm because it gives the body time for the LH to build up in the system, but some women do find testing in the morning works better for them. So, you might consider that option as well.

Vitamin C, avocados, broccoli, nuts, carrots. I’ve heard dark chocolate as well. They’re all progesterone rich foods.

No. Test results must be read in 5 minutes. Though a positive result should not change for several days, a negative test result may change to a false positive within minutes after the end of the testing period, which would not be an accurate reading. It is always best to read the results at the 5 minute testing period and then discard the test to avoid confusion.

For a valid test result, a control line should appear in the result window within 5 minutes. Invalid results typically stem from three main reasons: not fully immersing the absorbent tip in urine for 10 seconds, insufficient urine, or urine exceeding the arrow line on the test. Retest with another test, ensuring proper urine immersion and quantity while avoiding exceeding the arrow line. If the result remains invalid, contact our customer service team.

Yes, our tests our 99% accurate if the test is done properly. Please refer to the user manual before testing. We recommend using first morning urine when performing the test as this is when hCG concentrations are the highest.

I used these to track ovulation for my first pregnancy. I have PCOS so required Letrozole to ovulate. But these quantitative tests made it much easier to understand and compare to a numeric value instead of guessing how dark the test line compares to the control line and are so much cheaper than the digital mid-flow urine sticks. The app is also great for tracking everything from period to symptoms and keeping record of your testing results! After a few months it really does get some accurate predictions too.
