Pregnancy Week 33 - Week 34

Baby Growth

  • Size is approximately 17.72 inches and 4.73 pounds.
  • Your baby is the size of a pineapple.
  • Your baby’s brain is continuing to develop and bones are hardening.
  • Your baby should be kicking about 10 times in an hour, or less.
  • Your baby is now keeping eyes open while awake.

You & Your Body

  • During this week you may notice overheating, shortness of breath, vaginal discharge, cramps, clumsiness, foggy brain, and headaches.
  • You may still notice some Braxton Hicks contractions after sexual activity or exercise. Real contractions aren’t comfortable, keep happening even when you switch position, and increase in intensity and frequency.
  • You may also be experiencing some of those now regular symptoms for you: fatigue, constipation, hemorrhoids, swollen ankles or feet, abdominal pressure, and frequent trips to the bathroom.
  • If you’re also feeling that sexy pregnancy glow, take advantage!

Tips

  • Unusual contractions that feel uncomfortable – or 5 or more an hour -- are a reason to call the doctor.
  • Make sure you’re getting plenty of water.
  • Keep doing those kick counts.
  • Make sure you’ve installed your car seat.
  • If you’re having twins, delivery may be coming a few weeks earlier for you.
